Process Safety & Risk management
Equipment Design Basis
An established design basis for PSM-covered equipment is essential to a successful and effective mechanical integrity program. Process safety standards require companies that handle hazardous materials to verify and document that their covered systems are designed in compliance with recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices. GP helps you make sure that happens.
Locate your design basis and documentation easily.
Developing and maintaining adequate process safety information is a significant issue requiring substantial resources. Frequently, documentation gets misplaced, lost, or destroyed over time. Your ability to control and maintain documentation is complicated by the need to provide employee access to the information.
If you cannot easily access or locate your equipment information—including the design basis, GP can provide the resources and expertise necessary to compile all the required information and establish a document control system to maintain the information.
Evaluate your equipment’s fitness for service.
If you have equipment where the design basis cannot be established, GP can assist you by performing fitness for service evaluations. GP’s fitness for service assessments are based on recognized and generally accepted good engineering practice (RAGAGEPs), and are performed in accordance with API Recommended Practice 579.
